ARTCOLLECTORNEWS
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 25 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of ARTCOLLECTORNEWS, including its website, editorial content, THE DIRECTORY, submissions, memberships, paid services and related communications. By using the website or purchasing or applying for a service, you agree to these terms.
1. About ARTCOLLECTORNEWS
ARTCOLLECTORNEWS is an independent publishing, editorial and art-market platform operated by Jonathan Fakinos trading as ARTCOLLECTORNEWS, The Plaza, 535 King's Road, London SW10 0SZ, United Kingdom. Contact: jonathan@artcollectornews.com.
2. Website use
You may use the website for lawful personal or professional purposes. You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, introduce malicious code, scrape content at scale without permission, or use the website in a way that infringes the rights of ARTCOLLECTORNEWS or any third party.
3. Editorial content
Editorial material is provided for general information, commentary and cultural or art-market interest. It does not constitute legal, tax, investment, valuation or financial advice. While reasonable care is taken in preparing content, ARTCOLLECTORNEWS does not guarantee that all information will be complete, current or error-free. Opinions attributed to contributors are their own unless stated otherwise.
4. Editorial submissions, open calls and applications
Submitting material does not guarantee publication, selection, interview, exhibition, award, listing or other outcome. ARTCOLLECTORNEWS may accept, reject, edit, postpone or withdraw proposed editorial coverage or opportunities where reasonably necessary. Unless otherwise agreed, applicants remain responsible for ensuring that information and materials supplied are accurate and that they have the rights and permissions required to submit them.
Where an application or submission fee applies, the applicable price and any specific conditions will be shown before payment. Fees relating to assessment, administration or processing may become non-refundable once the relevant service has begun, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Licence for submitted materials
When you provide text, images, logos, artwork photographs, biographies, press materials or other content for publication, you retain ownership of your material but grant ARTCOLLECTORNEWS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, edit, format, publish, archive and promote that material for the purpose for which it was supplied and in connection with ARTCOLLECTORNEWS editorial and promotional activity. You confirm that you have authority to grant this licence.
6. THE DIRECTORY
THE DIRECTORY by ARTCOLLECTORNEWS is a curated professional directory. Acceptance of an application is at ARTCOLLECTORNEWS's discretion and may take account of relevance, professional fit, completeness and editorial standards. Paid membership or listing does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee of business, recommendation of services, or representation that a listed specialist is suitable for any particular transaction.
Directory members are responsible for keeping their information accurate and for complying with laws and professional obligations applicable to their own services. ARTCOLLECTORNEWS may correct obvious errors, request updates, temporarily suspend or remove a listing that is misleading, unlawful, materially inaccurate, unpaid or inconsistent with the Directory's standards.
7. Memberships and paid services
Where memberships, subscriptions, listings, advertising, editorial packages or other paid services are offered, the price, billing period and material features will be presented before purchase or agreed separately in writing. Additional service-specific terms in an order, proposal, application or contract form part of the agreement and take priority where they expressly conflict with these website terms.
8. Prices, VAT and payment
Prices are shown in the currency indicated and will state whether VAT is included or added where relevant. Payment may be processed through a third-party payment provider. ARTCOLLECTORNEWS may suspend access to a paid service or listing where payment is overdue, subject to any applicable contract and legal requirements.
9. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation and refund rights depend on the service purchased, whether the customer is acting as a consumer or for business purposes, and whether performance has already begun. Where UK consumer cancellation rights apply, ARTCOLLECTORNEWS will not limit those statutory rights. Any additional cancellation terms presented at checkout, in an application, proposal or separate agreement will also apply.
10. Advertising and sponsored content
Advertising, sponsorship and paid partnerships may be identified as such where appropriate. Commercial arrangements do not entitle an advertiser or sponsor to dictate independent editorial conclusions unless a piece is expressly commissioned and labelled as sponsored or promotional content.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the ARTCOLLECTORNEWS name, branding, website design, original editorial text, graphics and other original website material are owned by or licensed to ARTCOLLECTORNEWS and protected by intellectual-property law. You may link to public pages and share short extracts for legitimate non-commercial reference with appropriate attribution, but you may not reproduce, republish, sell or systematically exploit substantial parts of the website without prior permission.
12. Third-party content and links
The website may link to or display content supplied by artists, galleries, museums, specialists, advertisers and other third parties. ARTCOLLECTORNEWS is not responsible for the availability, security, accuracy, products, services or privacy practices of independent third-party websites or organisations.
13. No guarantee of transactions or professional services
ARTCOLLECTORNEWS may introduce readers to artists, galleries, advisers or other specialists, but unless expressly agreed in writing it is not a party to any transaction between a website user and a third party. Users should conduct their own due diligence and obtain appropriate professional advice before entering into transactions or relying on specialist services.
14. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, ARTCOLLECTORNEWS is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of free editorial content or third-party services. Any liability relating to a paid service will be considered in light of the specific agreement, applicable law and the nature of the customer relationship.
15. Availability and changes
ARTCOLLECTORNEWS may update, suspend, redesign or discontinue parts of the website or its services. We may update these Terms & Conditions where necessary to reflect changes to services, law or business operations. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
16. Privacy and cookies
Personal information is handled in accordance with the ARTCOLLECTORNEWS Privacy Policy. Information about cookies and similar technologies is available in the Cookie Policy.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country in which you live. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes arising in connection with these terms.
18. Contact
