ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Korea Artist Prize 2026 continues the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art’s annual programme supporting major voices in Korean contemporary art. Developed with the SBS Foundation, the prize selects four artists and supports the production of ambitious new work alongside sustained critical and international engagement.

The exhibition combines newly commissioned projects with representative earlier works, allowing each artist’s current concerns to be understood within the wider development of their practice. Installation, painting, moving image and other media are presented across MMCA Seoul’s Galleries 1 and 2.

The 2026 edition places particular emphasis on curatorial narrative and critical context, positioning the selected artists within broader art-historical and international conversations while considering the changing conditions of contemporary artistic production in Korea.
